The session was led by Ms. Shubhra Puri, Founder, Gurgaon First, who provided an in-depth overview of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Her presentation covered the genesis of the Act, definitions of “workplace,” key provisions and tenets, the constitution and role of Internal Complaints Committees (ICC) and Local Complaints Committees (LCC), as well as important dos and don’ts for both employers and employees.
Ms. Puri brings extensive on-ground experience to the subject, having served as an Advisor to the Local Complaints Committee (LCC), Gurugram, and as a member of the One Stop Centre for Women, Gurugram, under the District Administration. The workshop featured a panel discussion with legal experts Mr. Anuraag Mehta and Dr. Aditi Kaushal Bhardwaj, who highlighted the practical implications of the POSH Act, shared real-world case insights, and addressed participant queries.
To enhance understanding, participants were shown relevant videos, engaged in an interactive quiz, and were awarded certificates of participation at the conclusion of the session.
